Meet Cait Medugno & Alyssa Shepard
Growing Up Grieving Podcast — a place where grief is complicated, humor is necessary, and speaking your griefy truth is always encouraged.
Cait Medugno is the creator and co-host of Growing Up Grieving podcast, a show inspired by her lifelong experience with loss and chronic illness within her family. After losing her mother who was chronically ill throughout Cait’s life, and more recently her father, Cait launched the podcast as a space to explore the complexities of grief with raw honesty and touches of sarcasm. Through thoughtful conversations, humor, and shared truths, she brings validation and connection to those who are grieving in all forms.
In Season 2, Cait is joined by her cousin and co-host Alyssa Shepard, who shares a similar background of growing up with grief from the loss of her older brother- and two years ago her mother died from Parkinson’s. Alyssa brings both clinical insight and deep empathy to the conversations. Together, they navigate the often unspoken sides of grief—its impact on relationships, identity, and the strange, sometimes funny, ways it shows up in everyday life.
The show now features new segments like Speak Your Griefy Truth and Would You Rather: Grief Edition, inviting listeners and guests to explore their grief in new, unexpected ways. Through interviews, lived experience, and plenty of laughs, Cait and Alyssa remind listeners each week that there’s no right way to grieve—and that telling the truth about it can be one of the most healing things we do.
